LOVER OF PRETTY THINGS, sunshine, AND MISTER FLETCHER
Hi, I'm Meghan. You met me at a very strange time in my life. (10 points if you get the reference.)
Past: My husband and I just spent six months living in Kenya after four years in Washington, D.C. For a while, we had been feeling restless in D.C., and then a job offer fell into my husband's lap that would move us to Nairobi. The kind of job offer we couldn't say no to, and the more we thought about it we weren't even sure we wanted to say no. Within three weeks, he was on a plane. Another three weeks after that, I was walking out of Jomo Kenyatta International Airport with three bursting suitcases, a sleep-deprived body, and a huge grin slapped across my face.
We always knew our time in Kenya would be short; our family and friends were back in the States, not to mention my job and all of our worldly possessions, hastily thrown into a moving pod in our race to Kenya.
Present: We find ourselves in Salt Lake City. My in-laws have an empty house here that they're preparing to sell so we're helping out as we re-acclimate to the U.S. Time for us to figure out what's next - another adventure, right? We're not sure exactly where that will be, what it will be, or how long we'll be here, but for now we're taking it one day at a time. It feels really good to take a beat, even if it means our life is still very much in a transitional state.
Future: Join me and find out!
What you'll find here
I am still catching up on blogging about all of our African adventures, and have a ton of travel trips from six months of bee boppin' around Kenya. In the meantime, as my life moves forward, posts will shift to the reason I started this blog in the first place. While I love my professional marketing career, everyone has to have a hobby. Outside of work, my focus is on our home. As a true homebody at heart, it's important to me to make the place I spend more time than anywhere else beautiful, comfortable, and personal. I'll be sharing DIYs, recipes, and inspiration while documenting moments from my own life and experience.
